I've always enjoyed the layout at Wild Wing's Avocet Course, but the recent renovation has made it much better. Course conditions were excellent. Greens were firm but receptive, and new bunkers are a big improvement, sand is consistent. The layout has always been one of my favorites. Definitely putting it on our big group's Myrtle Beach golf trip schedule for spring

Had a 36 hole day at Myrtlewood. Started off in the morning at Pine Hills. Pouring rain. They still let us play. Cart paths only (understandable). We had the whole course to ourselves. (not the norm). Great track. Even though everything was soaked, the course was in amazing shape and held the water off fairly well. The 2nd round of the day was Palmetto. The rain cleared by this point and it was definitely busier. However, the course was awesome. If I were to rate the 2 based on a 1-10, I'd give Pine Hills an 8/8.5 and Palmetto a 9. Not a ton of difference, ratings wise, but the courses were very different, but both were fantastic. These arent as highly mentioned as the Caledonia's and Pawley's, but definitely as much fun and probably half the price.

We had a 36 hole day planned here at Myrtle Beach National. First course was South Creek. The starter was friendly, polite, interactive, and informative. We told him we were playing Kings North in the afternoon and he was like "boys, you're going to love it! South Creek is a great course but wait till you get over there". We played South Creek and loved it. We said there's no way that Kings North can be that much better, boy were we wrong! We played 7 courses while there, including Caledonia, Pawleys, Myrtlewood, etc. Kings North was by far the most fun, visually stimulating, and creative course down there. Being from Maine, we don't exactly get to ride in bunkers. Down here, its what you do! What a gem of a course. There will never be a time that I visit Myrtle Beach and don't play Kings North!

Was definitely the course I was most looking forward to playing. Maybe thats why I was underwhelmed? Dont get me wrong, it was nice, just not as nice as Kings North or Pawleys or even Palmetto at Myrtlewood. We had a 1:33 tee time and were there at 12:30. Went to go to the range and was told it was at their "sister course" True Blue, a mile away. Got back at 1:00, checked in and received our carts, after standing there waiting, at 1:39. The whole thing felt very disorganized. Again, no major complaints, just not what I thought it was going to be.

The course was a pleasure to play. Very open and forgiving. Greens were in great shape. Some a little more challenging than others but who doesn’t love a good challenge every now and again?! I’d play it again for sure.

everything about was awesome from staff to course to food. played with a member helped in water locations and patients. looking forward to returning!!
