LPGA Instructor Meredith Kirk demonstrates a drill that helps improve alignment of short putts
So today I am working on my putting game. One thing I love to do is I get two alignment sticks and I put them together, almost creating somewhat of like a railroad track. What I like to do is I like to constrict the putter head here, make it nice and tight. What does this do? Well, it helps with my motion to keep the putt online, and also, when I’m setting up to the ball, I make sure that my feet alignment and my shoulder alignment is nice and square. So this is a great drill when you’re working on short putts, working on your putting motion, and your aim in alignment. So my goal here is to focus on the motion, to feel it, come through the shot, and try to hit the stick. That’s the goal. Do this 10, 15 times. Work on that short game. Start making those short putts.
