Bill Hubble, a long-time starter at Myrtle Beach National (MBN), has been named the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association Employee of the Year.
As the starter at MBN, one of the area’s busiest facilities, Hubble helps set a positive tone for players as they prepare to play either the West Course, SouthCreek or King’s North. Hubble’s exemplary customer service skills and positivity with guests and co-workers have long made him a valued team member, but it’s his willingness to go the extra mile that earned him employee of the year honors in golf’s most popular travel market.
Every year, Hubble purchases brisket and an assortment of sides and personally prepares a meal for all 50 MBN employees. On Christmas Day 2021, Hubble decided, on his own, to pressure wash the property’s snack house, and when asked why he said, “because it needed it and I knew if I did it today when we were closed, I wouldn’t be in anyone’s way.”
If a job – no matter how big or small – needs to be done, Hubble does it without complaint.
“Bill is the most genuine employee I have ever had the joy of working with and possesses a tremendous drive and passion for his work,” said Ryan Ruddy, general manager at Myrtle Beach National. “He is a huge asset to our team and is so deserving of this award and recognition.”
In a market that employs more than 1,500 people, winning the award is a significant accomplishment, but Hubble is no stranger to accolades. He has earned Employee of the Quarter honors three times at MBN and was named Founders Group International Employee of the Year in 2021.
