7 Myrtle Beach Golf Courses That Offer Junior Tees For Summer

7 Myrtle Beach area courses are offering junior tees this summer making a family outing to the golf course even more attractive.  Kids 16 and under play free at all of those courses with a paying adult. Junior tees are available at Aberdeen Country Club, Litchfield Country Club, West Course at Myrtle Beach National, Myrtlewood PineHills course, River Club , Willbrook Plantation and Wild Wing Plantation

Aberdeen Country Club is a 27-hole Scottish links-style course. With par 36 on each nine, it offers a combination of challenges to choose from, such as water hazards on 23 of the 27 holes. The three courses hug the Waccamaw riverfront preserve with only a minimal number of home sites in view. There are not as many trees outlining the courses as is usual on American golf courses. Instead, golfers are challenged with more bunkers and water hazards. Rolling hills along the side of the fairways and around the greens add to the beauty of Aberdeen’s courses. The nature preserve sports an abundance of wildlife, including turkeys, nesting osprey, bald eagles, and alligators.

River Club is a Tom Jackson signature course that requires a precision-heavy strategy to the round.  River Club has water on 14 of the 18 holes. The Pawleys Island course is a member of the famed Waccamaw Golf Trail and is every bit of a true plantation design. The former rice estate, which recently earned 4.5 stars from Golf Digest’s “Places to Play,” has also been outfitted with sand traps numbering in the triple digits.

Skillful use of mounding and strategic placement of water hazards make the Myrtlewood PineHills golf course a modern masterpiece. Originally known as The Pines, PineHills was redesigned by Arthur Hills making it his only course on the Grand Strand.  The PineHills Courses was on Golf Digest’s list of nominations for “Best New Resort Course” when it opened in 1993.  Hills added elaborate mounding as he reshaped fairways that wind through tall pines and large oaks. The owners were so impressed with the new design that they rechristened it PineHills in Hills’ honor.
