Very nice and well maintained course. Found it a bit odd and frustrating that we couldn’t take cart when we arrived. Range balls were far less than 40 for small bucket. More like 25-30. But the course was excellent. Layout and condition. 5* for the course. 3* for the cart and range experience.

Course is in fine shape

This was a narrower course with many doglegs. More target golf where you have to choose the correct clubs. Our experience was diminished by having to play as a twosome which meant to hit every shot (the other twosome never showed).

We had a good round of golf. Slow play but it was a beautiful day in late October. Cart attendant, who played basketball at UF under Norm Sloan, was a hoot.

A well designed golf course, for any golfer. The only thing would be an investment of some capital. To speed up play, larger greens, bunkers need sand and the fairways in places need some TLC.

Good course in great shape as of July 2019. Description mentions a lot of housing, but the subdivision was not an issue. Bunkers well maintained, greens very good.

Love this course. I've played it twice and look forward to playing it again. Clubhouse is being remodeled. Once it is finished this is a place I might want to join.

Well course was very wet and wind was blowing quite hard. We've played before in the summer and the course was great so time of year makes a difference.

TPC is good but not in perfect condition, some obvious defects on both greens and fairway.

Always a great course, great shape, great staff. Pace of play is consistent at 4:15-4:30.

First time playing this hidden gem. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were in great shape compared to other courses in the area this time of year. Many challenging shots... for 39.00 plus tax well worth the trip....

Great course to play. 17 of us played on Saturday and the course was in great condition. There is a wide range of holes. The Par 5 17th is a classic. The staff is very friendly and great to work with. One of the best deals in the MB area.

This is a really well-run operation. Overall condition of the course was excellent. It's tough but fair. The staff is great, the practice facilities are great and the value is great. One of the best on the Strand.

Interesting layout. Greens were receptive and in great shape. Tee boxes were crowned making it hard to find a stance conducive to the shot needed. Overall a great value.

Nice course, well maintained. Lots of dog legs mostly to the left. Some narrow fairways are lined with homes, a slight miscue and you're ball is in their yard or worse, hitting their house. And with water near some of the greens, be sure to have extra golf balls. I appreciated the course layout/yardage card.

We have played at River Hills a number of years in the winter months. Always an enjoyable time. Will come back next winter.

River Hills is a wonderful golf course with several dog leg holes and lots of water. It also has well placed sand traps and tight fairways to cause you trouble. The course is in great shape minus the greens which were recently aerated and spotty from a fungus. They mentioned this to us in advance and gave us a discount because of it. Overall, I really enjoyed the course.

Course in good shape overall, fairways excellent, greens were Augusta fast almost rediculous fast. Nothing too memorable, wish I knew there were so many houses on course, thousand of houses , would have preferred something more secluded.

PLAYED THIS COURSE ON A PACKAGE DEAL. THE LAYOUT IS EXCEPTIONAL AND OTHER THAN THE GREENS,WHICH THEY ARE LOSING RAPIDLY THE COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE ME THE GROUP LEADER AWARE OF THE ALMOST UNPUTTABLE GREENS AND GAVE THE OPTION TO REPLAY OUR AM ROUND WHICH WAS AT FARMSTEAD AND HAD IMMACULATE GREENS

Fun course but the greens were in need of more attention.Narrow fairways that make you concentrate harder.

The course is beautiful and I'd like to play it again when it's not quite so cold and wet. I suspect later in the Spring the course is one of the nicest in Myrtle Beach.

Very nice course, has slopes and narrow fairways similar to the TPC course. You need to hit your driver straight to be successful.

First time playing here, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The golf course was in great shape from tee to green. Bunkers were very fair to play from. The greens were very receptive to approach shots yet when putting rather fast. My hats off to the golf course superintendent and their staff

Greens were plugged. We were not told when booking on this web site. And also it was cart path only.. so very slow and they booked twosomes behind us who were locals. And just because you are old and retired doesn't deserve respect unless you give it. Nasty local retired people, may cross this off our list just for that reason.

This course was in great shape.Loved the greens.They were fast,putts rolled true.I was a little disappointed about some of the pin positions.several were about 2 from being illegal.This was a Tuesday-why make getting to the pin so hard.I think these green keepers are mad at someone.

Nice greens! Found the course very tight but some of that was me. Would like to play again and not hit the driver so much...score would improve by 5 or 6 strokes.

I liked everything about my experience at River Hills Golf Club. Best greens I've putted on in years. Staff was friendly and the course was in excellent condition.

Over 6 days, we played 10 rounds of golf at 10 different MB courses. Overall, this was our best experience. This is a beautiful challenging course and it is in excellent shape. Perfect greens and fairways with the tee boxes good. Only Hole ##1 is a bit iffy. Some elevation change here. The course ranger was active here so we were able to play in just under 4.5 hours. Would highly recommend and would return.

This course is simply amazing. Very difficult and in great condition. Players with no ball control may not enjoy this course but will appreciate its difficulty and will enjoy the beautiful holes. We will play this course again.

Fantastic, but very narrow course. Course was in phenominal shape for March, greens were absolutly perfect. If you are a high handicap or wild off the tee, bring some extra balls and expect to be a little frustrated. I'm a 5 handicap and only used my driver on 4 holes (hit thru FW on 2 of those) due to the narrow fairways and extreme doglegs. Staff was very curteous, range and practice green were large and well maintained. They offer free yardage books at the clubhouse, highly recommend you get one if you have never played the course, a GPS will be extremely helpful as well. Overall, I would make the 2 hour drive again and again to play this tough course. Have fun on ##17 (draw or cut around the tree will leave you in position for a long iron into the green in 2) and ##18 to close out your day, extra club or 2 is recommended to reach the green on your approach to ##18 (caution off the tee, don't go thru the FW).

Course in great shape. starters easy going and attentive. Knowledgable, helpful proshop person. Wish I had purchased a yardage book for some hole playing tips before I started...or left my driver in the car

Hard to play

The course was great. Very challenging with the packed down bermuda rough near the water. It was very easy to lose a few balls. I loved the layout.

This course is the favorite of all those we play in the area and we always make sure we play at least two or three times during our April stay.

The course was in great shape especially with all the rain recently, but there was a Member/Guest Tournament that we were not notified of. We played our first 9 holes in 90 minutes. The second 9 we were behind the tournament and it almost took 3 hours!

Played there years ago and the course is as tight as I remembered. Fairways and greens were in good condition even after all the rain before we arrived. Very nice layout.

The course was aerated a week ago. Disappointed because it is a beautiful course. There should be a notes section when you review courses outlining aeration and/or other items that would affect your decision to play at the course.

We would have liked to know that they had recently done maintenance on the greens and fairways.

The staff, including starters, ranger, and clubhouse personnel were excellent. The golf course was in great shape, especially considering the 100+ degree heat. Overall, the course was challenging and fun for me and my son. We will definitely play there again.

It was a good golf course. However, the course had aerated the greens 6 days before play. MyrtleBeachGolf.com failed to mention this when we booked the course and this made it nearly unplayable (not course's fault). They also failed to mention that due to this, the price of the greens fees went from 42 to 32. MyrtleBeachGolf.com charged us full price and almost ruined a golf trip to Myrtle!

Good track, especially for the price point. Slow day so let us play as 5-some. Finished in under 4 hours. Much appreciated.

The course was in very good condition. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The layout is a bit quirky, requiring that shots be hit in certain places, which makes it difficult for first time players to determine where to hit their shots. Lots of water. The pace of play was brutal, a result of poor golfers losing lots of balls in the woods and water.

We have played this course before and is one of our favorites. Staff are welcoming and course has that mature well groomed feel about it.

The pace of play was pathetic. The ranger said he was going to move the slow group along. If possible the pace got slower. I love the area but I won't play this course again. Conditions were OK but many of the women's tees were not playable. Many of the bunkers were not raked. Range balls were plastic.

The starter, Dick Huffman, was quite the professional starter. Gave an accurate and thorough summary of the golf course. The greens were excellent considering it's still only January. The fairways were well cut and in great shape. You have a premium quality golf course that I've never played before and I've been coming here for over 20 years. I'll be back most assuredly.

This is a great track and quite challenging. Very much target golf. There was some overseeding that had not been mowed in the fairways but it did not affect play and the course was in great shape.

Nice staff, too many dog legs and houses for my liking. When people come to MB they want to use their $400 driver, not lay up at the bend in the fairway.

We had not been on this course in nearly 10 years, and after finishing our round, we are ready to go back. This course was in great shape. The greens were putting true and fast. The fairways were nice and mowed low with the rough in great condition as well. The par 5s were challenging and quite scenic. The added shrubs and landscaping around the tee area were outstanding. To me, these are the bright spots to a great round of golf. We will be going back again and again!

Course likes to book tee times on both #1 and #10 at same time which creates a lot of delays. Staff on course not pleasant at all and don't seem to understand how to coordinate course traffic well. Course seemed to be in good condition however because of the course management this was one of my worst golf experiences. Look somewhere else to play.

Back nine is tougher than the front although we started on the back and scored worse on the front. Great course in excellent condition even after a very tough winter.

I love the layout, condition, and greens. However - the staff was terrible! We had a 7:56 a.m. tee time and they bypassed us and let another four groups go ahead of us! So we asked why and they got the tickets mixed up! Therefore they had us tee off behind another group at Number 10. Needless to say it took us over 5 hours to play a round of golf. The staff did nothing to get that group to speed their play up, nor did that group use proper etiquette and allow us to play through.

GREAT course with a lot of water. Enough sand at strategic positions. A most enjoyable play with the challenge to test a good golfer. Visibly pleasing. Would definitely play again.
