With 5 holes bordering the Calabash Creek, The Maples Course at Sea Trail is regarded as one of Dan Maples finest designs. Home to nesting ospreys and wildlife, the course is lined with tall ancient oaks and Carolina Pines. This Maples Design includes several waste bunkers one of which extends the full length of the fairway.
This course is a disaster. Greens are mostly dead. waste area on course full of winter debris. Course had a rotting smell to it.But not a word was uttered by the staff as to the condition of the course. We walked off after 4 holes that took 1:45 to play starting at 7:45 AM.

On Saturday our golf team of 32 golfers played the maples, it was in horrible shape. The greens were not cut and goose grass and broad leaf was growing. This course didn't measure up to our expectations. This weekend was set up for our yearly championship golf outing and the maples was less than desirable. The Byrd course was in excellent condition!!
