Put this course on your list and keep it very close to the top! What a incredible experience. While this course may not be too friendly for a beginner, intermediate golfer will have a fantastic experience. The front part of the course has some of the most challenging holes I have ever played. The back is equally beautiful but slightly less challenging. There were several holes on the front that I sincerely felt I was out of my league on. Incredibly large greens, elevated greens with severe penalties for missing, and tabletop putting just made it difficult but extremely challenging and fun. I would absolutely never guess this course again when traveling down to play. They have at all!

Very impressed with the quality of the course, the design and the people. The course is playable for all - tough but fair, and not too tricky (as other Dye courses can be). The people all were were happy and friendly, and were focused on enabling a fun and easy outing - something forgotten at some other courses on The Strand.

This golf course is a hidden gem. This has to be one of my favorite courses in and around Myrtle Beach. Each hole is different and some are just beautiful.

One of my favorite courses right in MB between the 2 rte 17's. close to airport (10min) for arrival day round or getaway day round. $85 for round. unfortunately this day we played in some early morning rain, on top of the fact that 5 days prior they had significant rain so course was saturated and cart path only. really like the layout and great greens. rain had big impact on some of fairways to the point of some spots lacking grass. unusual for this place so chalk it up to recent weather as this is pretty flat course. played here about 3 times in past and conditions always fantastic so chalking it up to aberration of the weather.

I have played this course many times and I never tire of playing it. Greens are the best and very quick. Conditions are superb. Make sure you play the tees that match you game or you will be frustrated. Staff makes you feel very welcome. If you haven't played this course give it a shot. You won't be dissapointed.

There isn't a nicer course in Myrtle Beach. There are only a couple of easy holes on the course. You have to bring your A game and pay attention every shot. It's in great condition, as usual.

Great layout! Every hole brings a new challenge. Fairways and greens are perfect. Slick surfaces make for great putting on undulating greens with a true roll. Staff is friendly and top notch! Will be back for sure!

Very nice course. In excellent condition. The greens were exceptionally fast in the wind. They had two sets of tees for the ladies which is nice and unusual. Thought the course was challenging, after all it is a Dye course, yet fair for ladies.

This course is a must play when in the Myrtle Beach area. This course is in phenomenal shape for February. The staff is extremly friendly and courteous and answered any questions my group had. Greens are extremely fast and makes your incoming shot very important. This course will be on our list when back in the area,

The course was in excellent condition and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The course is laid out very well with no parallel fairways. The first nine is tree lined while the back nine is more links style. The greens were fast, but putted true. It is a good test of your golf game. I would recommend that you move up a tee box from where your normally play because the course tends to play long.

Golf course itself was in good but not great condition. Greens were nice and fast even though spraypainted. Tee boxes were in ok shape and fairways were in good shape. Still one of the better layouts we played and at the end of the day the greens, tee boxes and fairways were consistent. Staff great as well as very friendly.

A gem. A mix of straightforward and challenging. Greens were excellent. #2, #9, #17 and #18 were a blast to play. The rest of the course didn't let up either. I would definitely come back and play again. Pete Dye's railroad ties are in full force. Memorable.

We showed up a half an hour early and they made us wait for our tee time even though there wasn't anyone in front of us. Other than that, the course was in great condition.

Contour tough to putt, would have been better except for sand and rough grass on greens. Pretty course when the grass comes in.

We played this course in early January and the greens were painted and fast but nothing like yesterday. I'm not sure if they rolled them or what they did but they are almost unplayable because they are so firm and fast. Three times my putts rolled off the green because of the speed on downhill putts. After the rains, cart path only, you couldn't run a chip on because the area around the greens were wet and soft and if you chip on, the ball rolls forever. Really difficult to play. The course itself is a favorite of mine with a great layout and test of golf. The staff is excellent and friendly for a semi-private facility. I will return but not this year.

Everything was in great condition and everyone was friendly and helpful. Recommend getting a yardage card so you can more easily see location of bunkers and hazards. Some bunkers and waste areas are difficult to get out of (physically).

Very disappointing. Have played in past years at same time of year and course always in great conditions. This year greens were bare and only treated with something to make them green. Like hitting onto asphalt and impossible to hold shots on greens. Fairways also very patchy with brown spots everywhere. To pay $110 for round here was outrageous. Staff also not very accommodating.

Just played the course last week and where do I start?The course had a freeze delay which delayed our tee time by 20-25minutes which was ok however the starter failed to tell us we needed to be done with back 9 by 12:20 as they had now loaded up afternoon tee times.We finished on time but were told to go to the tee.I had not eaten or gone to the bathroom.I did get a boxed lunch and go to bathroom however upon getting to the tee there were 4 foursomes waiting for us I did not tee off but choose to eat along with my partner while my playing partners played the hole out.This did help us as we gained a good time gap between us and the groups behind us BUT I didnt play that first hole.The other BIG issue was the greens or lack of greens they were painted sand.I played here 2 years ago and loved the course after this time not sure if I will come back.

Excellent lay out of holes. enjoyable day

Prestwick is always on the list to play. We played on 2/9/13 and had a great time. The greens have been painted but they still putt true. They have a solid sand base which helps to check up coming into the greens. Fairways were okay and tees were good. I will look forward to playing again if I get a chance. They have a number of tees to choose from so pick the right one according to the scorecard and you'll find the course a fair test of golf. The staff was excellent and got us out a little early because the course was not full. Thanks.

Again, loved the layout and look of the course. It was in great condition, with fast bent grass greens! People were great there, course was not crowded when we played, which made the round even go better!

Played just after their re-opening. New greens were excellent and rolled great. Changes they made on 2, 4, 5, and 17 were great. Still rough around the edges with weeds still present sporadically about. Overall it it was in great shape and played like the bear it's been known to be. Changes to the main level of the clubhouse were impressive as well.

Staff was excellent. Course in fine shape. Use most of the clubs in your bag. Need to hit it straight. Pace of play was extremely SLOW! pro shop not very well stocked. Some very good holes.

Played early morning on 10/28/11. We were putting our shoes on and there were explosions going off. Even the bag person didn't know what it was. He drove off in a cart and came back and said it was mole control? No one knew about this? They had also done top dressing to the greens and the sand was soaking wet from the dew. It made it very unpleasant.

The course was in great shape. It is the typical Dye design with huge mounds and tiny bunkers scattered around the greens. This was an enjoyable course that will definitely be on the return list.

I played Prestwick on the 4th of July 2010, and this was my 1st time at this course. I have to say that I was very impressed. The bermuda greens were faster than expected and in great shape. The fairways were also in great shape. The staff did a great job as well. This is a great course for the money. I'll be back on my next trip down.Thanks.

One of the best courses on the strand- Challenging and tough, but beautiful: After reading previous reviews kind of apprehensive about playing, but early problems with greens are fixed and they are rolling great. I have been playing golf for 50 years; played all over the USA and have never experienced greens as bad as these. They have totally lost the greens. This course WAS a great layout, but, I'm guessing, the economy is preventing them from keeping up the required maintenance.

Worst conditions of the four courses we played. Some greens were atrocious. I played here numerous times in the winter and the conditions were better then. They should be embarrassed.

Pro Shop was aloof and short. Maybe having a bad morning. Back nine was a much different layout than the front. Felt it was a little disjointed. Overall, still a fine track.
