Very good

A great layout if you enjoy a links style course and cannot beat the price with the all included deal but the price to pay will be a long golf round! Aerated process underway...tee boxes and greens. I would estimate the front 9 greens got aerated a few weeks ago but are coming back nicely. Now the back 9 greens are what I could described as very bumpy...

Great course, like the breakfast, golf, lunch deal. Forgiving off tee but still challenging.

Amazingly soggy conditions around the greens compared with the rest of the course and other courses in the area. It was clearly from watering versus rain. The tees were cut high, but higher grass versus no grass is preferred given the temps and time of year. The course was overall a great experience and in very goo condition. I had not played this course in a dozen or more years, but was impressed with the conditions and value based on cost. I also happened to shoot my personal best round ever in Myrtle Beach having logged at least 100 over the years.

Course was great, challenging but forgiving. Will definitely play again.

This is a lengthy course that will challenge a golfer with any handicap, low-medium-high. The par 5 holes are able to get to in three with no problem. Most of the par 4 holes require a very good drive and will still leave a long challenging shot. Two of the par 3 holes are very long for a senior.

The Legends group golf courses are first rate in every way. I only rated the fairways a 9 because of the extremely wet conditions, which were not the fault of the courses. I gave the grill a 9 because the food was not world class, but certainly good. And the Legends group gives you tickets for breakfast, lunch, and two drinks as a bonus for playing a round of golf. You can't beat that.

Played all 3 Legends courses, had a great time and for time of year courses were in great shape. I enjoyed all 3 rounds.

Course was very enjoyable. Open fairways, large greens, excellent shape. Course layout allowed for use of a variety of clubs, not just a driver-wedge course.

The course was good, but it was WAY OVERBOOKED. We had played over 5 hours and just got to hole 13 before we left. Driving out there was no break in groups so it's not just like there was a slow group or two. I understand these are popular courses, but it was so crowded we were waiting on every hole. Probably won't go back to any of the other courses there.

The course was OK, but the food on breakfast was poor, potatoes were very poor.

Could not complete play on the back nine due to constant cold rain.

Little slow getting groups loaded into carts but after that it was good.

Loved the links feel, but could tell the greens had recently been aerated greens were pretty sandy. Also for half the course the tees were moved up to basically a winter tee set where all tees were located with the Red tee box, it would have been nice to know that the course was under this maintenance before playing. But overall this was my favorite layout of the trip.

Check-in is always unorganized and not timely. I go back 10 years and this past week. Has never improved. You need to rethink setup and organization. Also your person checking in for Heathland 0n 07-09-2013 needs to rethink his career path. Not customer service friendly. His attitude is what reminds me of the past years experience at your club. Will not be back and as the old saying goes we will tell 10 others about the unpleasant experience.

We played on a rainy and windy day, so it made things challenging. However had a great experience with this course. It was in great shape from tees to green. It is a Pete Dye course so there were far too many ill placed bunkers and way too many blind shots. Great course to play for lower handicappers.

All the Legends courses were fantastic along with the staff & food. We played Moorland & Parkland as well. The last course was Oyster Bay, nice course but the pro would not give us a replay, said they were booked but we overheard him telling a friend on the phone they were wide open in afternoon. Sent us to the Pearl who would not honor our replay. All 4 of us will never play Oyster Bay again.

Greens are very tricky.

First time at Legends, did not know about comp meals and drinks and had made other plans. Knew for the next two times we played this trip.

OK course.

Layout was decent, but pretty easy. Very open fairways. VERY, VERY crowded, and starter constantly pushing you, even though we were waiting on tee box for group in front of us to clear par 3. Starter told us to pick up pace. Needs a lot better management. Will not play again.

Due to wet conditions playing surfaces were so-so. Cart path only rules make for a very tiring day. Courses need to consider discounts or compensation when carts aren't allowed on fairways. Conditions at Heathland were slightly better than Long Bay.

Greens aerated about a week ago. Give another 2 weeks and they will be in great condition like Moorland and Parkland. Good layout. Great warm up course for a golf trip.

I am going to be perfectly honest. The four people in our group loved the entire experience of playing Heathland. A wonderful course that just ate me up for the first time. Greens were the best I have been on in some time. I think next year when we visit MB we've decided just to play 3 rounds at the Legends and try to find some other courses as good. All this with free breakfast, lunch and drinks. The pro shop person on duty went out of his way to arrange a tee the next day for us. On a negative note, I know the job is tough and the times are tough, but the bag people at the bag drop could put on a friendly face ... fake it. We tip well.

Class act. The course, facilities, and staff are all wonderful. Could have had a great time just playing all of their 5 courses. The even gave us breakfast, two drinks, and lunch for FREE! Wow! I would like to book at their resort next time.

The best 6.5-hour, 18-hole round in the USA! We played in mid-January. Minor frost delay. Took the turn and became part of a queue of 16 golf carts. There was no relief. Done with the course despite the high ratings I gave it. Mismanaged.

My favorite Legends course. Great shape for the amount of play. Perfect for me (46) and my dad (76) with tee options.

Be ready for a long round. Fivesomes SOP. Our group was placed behind a sixsome. Marshalls not to be found after 3 p.m. When we complained we were told to wait for the fivesome behind us to come on the green with us. I guess that would make us forget about watching the sixsome ahead of us take 15 min. to putt out. Slow play is all too common today, but to encourage it by PROMOTING fivesomes and sixsomes is not acceptable to me and I'm sure most other golfers. We played 4 rounds in two days and the fivesome was not an isolated incident.

We played this on 1/26/12. It seem to play easier than I thought it would because it really isn't links style. The pace slowed down a bit on the back but was still not bad. I enjoyed the day being paired with a guy that works there and getting a little local knowledge (thanks, Les). The fairways are a little thin but not bad for January. The greens a very large so hitting them with approach shots is easy, the undulations and grain make the putting require a lot of attention. I would play this course again.

Played the best on Heathland - more lady friendly and the greens were not like Moorland - you could make some putts. Enjoyed very much.

I'm a local. Courses themselves are awesome layouts. Usually in good condition. Staff not the nicest. Rounds take forever. They normally overbook. 2-2 hr. 15 min. front, 20-30 min. wait at the turn, due to overbooking, 3-3 1/2 hr. back 9. Can't remember last time we finished in under 5 1/2 hrs. Same at all 3 courses. Lunch was the best part. I've played super early, mid-morning, and early afternoon ... all the same.

Great experience of golf. We will be back.

Nice links course, really enjoyed, nice pleasant round and first course we played to start the Legends experience.

Pro shop and breakfast staff were excellent, but the bag drop area and starter were the rudest people I ever encountered. I've been to Myrtle Beach 6 times on golf vacations and have played 25 courses. This was the first time we've run into a rude starter. We were at the tee box by 9:05 for a 9:16 tee time and he started another twosome that he said was suppose to pair up with us, but since they didn't know if we were gonna show. We had checked in at the pro shop at 8:20 then went for breakfast and reported to the bag drop at 9:00. I will never play there again.

Pro shop was good, starters and marshals were rude and unprofessional.

Just sanded the tees ... no big deal and I am sure they will be fine in a couple weeks. Masseuse post-round was a nice touch (no pun intended).

All Legends courses in great condition, the staff was great and the free lunches were very good. This was our favorite of the three.

The course and practice facilities are in excellent condition and the clubhouse is amazing!

Course is in great condition. However, the pace of play was unacceptable. 3 hrs. 20 min. to finish the back nine, up to four groups on a hole waiting to hit. They dump people on the course front and back - completely mismanaged golf factory.

Good layout, but too crowded (5+ hour round).

We played Heathland on Oct. 19 and the course was very busy (5+ hr round). The rangers were very visible but friendly. The course was in good shape with large undulating and fast greens. The Legends package included breakfast, lunch and 2 drinks. The best deal I've seen in a long time.

The course was in its best shape in years last week. Greens were perfect and the layout always as interesting. The staff members know what they are doing at any level.

Very good layout, open, with fair reward. Pace of play was the best on the Strand. Look out for snakes!

Good experience.

This was an incredible golf experience. When you get to the bag drop the idea of cattle car golf pops into your head. But in practice that is not how it works out. They move a lot of golfers here, but we did not feel at all rushed - even though we did finish in 3 hours and 50 minutes. The staff members were super friendly - and most had a sense of humor. The course is astoundingly beautiful and was in wonderful condition. We can't wait to come back and play this course. Oh yeah, your fee includes ticket for breakfast, lunch and two drinks - which was a pleasant surprise to us.

This was a different design experience for me. I enjoyed the links flair to it. Sometimes you have to let the ego go and play sideways out of the pot bunkers as I learned the hard way. My eagle on a tough par 5 helped soothe the wounds. Look forward to playing it again.

Very well organized. We started right on time. The waitresses during breakfast and lunch were very attentive. Overall staff very friendly and made the foursome feel really comfortable.

Exceedingly slow play negatively affected the quality of the round. We played Parkland. Great value which included lunch and drink vouchers and $15 off in pro shop. Would consider playing again, if only for the perks. Good bar to watch college hoops.

Like the fact that we received coupons for food, drinks and the pro shop.

Always love the Heathland, favorite of the three at Legends. A great layout and you can definitely score here if you hit good shots. Greens were a little rough and bumpy all week, but that was the only disappointment. Through the green was in excellent condition. Starters were fantastic with our group all week long and very attentitive. Best practice area I've found at the beach, and pro shop and grill are fantastic.

Played last week, the conditions greatly improved since my last visit in '06. Very enjoyable and different course.

Would have like to know when the greens were air-rated. Would have been nice to have yardage on sprinkler heads. other than that course and staff was great.

Awesome experience. Got lost getting there but the staff was very friendly and still got me out. Fairways are open and very forgiving off the tee. Greens in excellent shape. Great course that the average golfer could enjoy. Overall, I would definitely play here again and looking forward to playing Moorland and Parkland in the future.

Commented on September 12, 2008: Really looked forward to playing here a few years ago, had a tee time, when I got there I was greeted with the course is closed for renovation, we've put you on the Parkland course. Wasn't too pleased with that, so I left. The next visit I put the last visit aside, and this time got to play it. Course layout is nice, no houses (which is rare in the area). The course was very burnt up due to the hot weather. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Played April 26, 2008: Tough pin placements and very hard-surfaced greens. They would not give individual players score card; feel this is a big negative.

Played Jan. 29, 2008: Legends had the best all-around facility (on our trip), with practice area, bar/lunchroom open in January when most are closed. We like the Heathland course the most, especially because we were not crowded with visible houses along the course.
