I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the greens. In my opinion during my 3 week stay in the Myrtle Beach area, May and June 2020, Tidewater and Heritage have the best conditioned greens. Unfortunately, the pace of play at Heritage was terrible. The round took nearly 5 hours to complete.

Great layout but disappointed with staff. There was a weather delay. We weren’t informed until we arrived. Told it would be 20-30 minutes. It ended up being a 1:10 delay. We were only able to complete 10 holes. That took an excruciating 3 hours. There was a group of 4 foursomes in front of us that were drunk, screwing around, and playing slowly. No rangers were on course to move things along. We were given 9 hole rain checks. I won’t be using them because I won’t be coming back.

This is a really great course. Tees, Fairways and Greens are in excellent condition. Every hole has the looks golfers dream of and wow! The enlongilating Greens tho... very fast like a pool table. All Staff Members were excellent. This will be my primary course to play when visiting Myrtle Beach again.

The course was in great shape. From reception to the Pro Shop to the Starter everyone was super nice and professional. I thought the handicapped recommendation of which tees to play was a nice touch.

Best course we played in 2018. Even though there was an abundance of rain during the weeks before we played, the course was in great condition.

Beautiful course, challenging but fair. Slowest of the three Legends courses we played at just over 5 hours, but it was our only weekend round. Grill has better food than at their main courses, and even Guinness was on their included beverage list. Worth the drive South of MB.

Great experience all the way around.

What a wonderful place to test your game. The greens are absolutely diabolical and will certainly test your patience. This is not a cookie-cutter type of course as each hole offers its own unique challenge. Be prepared for forced carries, well guarded greens and risk/reward course management decisions. A nice bonus for us was a lunch and soft drinks are included with the greens fees. Of the 40+ courses I've played along the Grand Strand I must say the Heritage is right up there as one of my favorites.

The course condition and layout is spectacular

Heritage is such a great course but ........... it is the Mother Ship of the Legends Resort and the pace of play is sooooooooo slow. My son and I played it twice. 1st time we were behind a 4-some that was double hitting ALL DAY LONG. My son and I actually hit into and over them at least 4 times and they never even raised their heads to look back at us. Even the cart lady was pissed because she had to sit idle waiting on them to finish shots. 2nd time .... we had a 12:44 tee time. Got into a cart at 2:10. The course overbooked like an airline, only worse. Front 9 took 3 hours 22 minutes. Same nonsense, double hitting, no Ranger pressing groups to move along. We left the course, drove the cart to the truck and left it there. It is really sad thought that management let's such a great course be looked at with such low ratings. Dollars definitely have the priority over the golf experience at Heritage. Four of my greatest friends on earth are coming to our place at Pawleys Island in Sept 2016, just to play golf. Not a chance I will try to get us on at Heritage because of these experiences.

One of our favorite course in the south area of MB. The pace was really too slow...may be it was over booked. The course was however in great condition as always. The staff was as usual nice and warm. The course was a bit wet so it was car path...a good way to keep it in good condition.

Nothing but good golf on a great course. ALL the greens were in good shape and the staff was very helpful. When you get breakfast, lunch, and golf for $50 it's the best deal in Myrtle area.

Been playing Heritage since 1989, favorite course. Was not made aware of food/beverage coupons until we checked in at pro shop.

Was a beautiful course. Was unfortunately cart path only, however they did accommodate my father who is handicap with a flag. Everyone was very helpful and extremely nice. Course in excellent condition. Would definitely play again.

Wonderful course, no two holes the same, I could play it everyday. The staff across the board was awesome, polite, and went out of their way to make our day extremely enjoyable. We were lucky to play with two members who helped us work our way around the course and negotiate the large green complexes. We'll be back!

We played there on a cold day but the course is a favorite. The greens are a little furry right now but quite puttable. On the first tee, we watched two eagles land in the nest near the tee. Quite pretty. This course has a some very tough golf holes and a couple that are easy. Love this course and the people that run it are great. Breakfast, Lunch and golf very not much money. I'll return.

I have played this course a few times in previous years. It is one of my favorites. Only bad thing is we had a late tee time because someone at the course made an error and allowed an extra group of ten people out which pushed our tee time from 12:00 to 1:00 pm just finished before dark and did not enjoy the second nine because of rushing to finish before dark. Love this golf course.

Awesome course and facility. Definitely a must play. The only notable oddity is the parking and range are accessible by livery cart. Even exiting the 18th you are not allowed to drive to your vehicle. it really seems like they are trying to force tips out of players. Other than that a great course.

Liked the layout and Southern charm.

Have played every year. Continues to be a favorite. The prior courses played this year (River Club and Litchfield CC) had monuments at the tees and GPS on the carts. Although not absolutely necessary, would have been helpful.

The gators on the 18th hole made this my favorite course of the week. The old plantation feel of the course was the other reason I liked it. We are not highly skilled golfers so enjoying the scenery is a bonus.

We haven't been there for ten years since they lost the greens. It was in great shape. The bag drop guys were ok, the restaurant service was outstanding, the course too! Two problems at this place were the rule on no carts in the parking lot and the nasty guys at day's end that won't let you watch your friends come in on 18 because they want to go home. Our group was 3rd from last. We played in 4 hours. A real jerk in the cart barn.

Everything about this course is wonderful. Had a heavy amount of rain the night prior and the course was cart path only. Made for a long day. One of our golfers is recovering from a broken leg and even with the extremely wet conditions he was given a H'cap flag and allowed to proceed with due caution. GREAT HOSPITALITY!!

Greens were bouncy because of recent aeration. The course is beautiful and fun to play.

Would have been nicer to have bags loaded onto carts upon arrival. Did not like that our group had to stand around waiting.

This is one of my favorite courses in area along with Caledonia which I played a couple of weeks earlier. They had just worked on the greens earlier in the week and they needed another week to recover. However, still a beautiful course that played great! Scenic views and a good far test of golf for all players!

Very friendly staff - great course

Overall great course, no complaints about the condition at all. Pace of play was more than perfect, we finished in under 4 hours and didn't rush up on anyone or have anyone pushing from behind. I will be back again, that's a certainty.

Beautiful course, great greens

Great overall experience. We were the first group out at 7:32am off the back and really made great time (a little over 2 hrs) but when we made the turn we caught the group in front of us at ##11 and it was very slow after that and turned into a five hour round which was very disappointing after being the first group out. The grill, the food and the staff were excellent!

Nice golf course and in good condition, but the rudest and most unprofessional attendants in the golf cart/bag area and in the pro shop I have encountered in over 20 years of coming to MB. My experience at the other courses ( Litchfield CC, River Club)we played on your property was a very positive experience. The treatment of your staff at the Heritage towards the group I was with has lead me to never return to Litchfield again, theres to many other properties and courses to stay at and play.

Course was great only complaint was the beverage cart, ordered 2 beer and 2 vodka and she drove away with the beers and had to be chased down to get them then managed to put all of the vodka into 1 cup and none in the other. Not impressed at all and for 30$ it should have been right!

My favorite course in Myrtle Beach. I play it every year. Awesome experience.

Very unfriendly from the guard to the clubhouse and starter

The pro at The Heritage Club is always very pleasant when we play there. We usually play there every other year and will probably continue to do so considering how well they treat my group.

This was our third time playing this course, and we experienced very slow play and long rounds. Will not play there again.

Greens were a little slow. We were approached in the first fairway about keeping up with pace of place and we waited on every shopt on the hole. Not a great way to start the week and day.

That it had recently been aerated

They didn't tell us the greens had been airriated, then didn't even offer a discount for the airrification. Then we stopped after 9 holes to get food, and then rushed us on the next 4 holes, when there was no one behind us. I nor my playing partners cannot even remember holes 10-14 because we were rushed. We will never play here again and will tell everyone we see to never choose this course.

Have been taking groups to MB for over 15 years and always enjoy Heritage. Have to say am suprised at the number of negative reviews of this course. Was there May 22nd and conditions were great and staff was very helpful. Only issue was the severity of the pin placements-- but as always the course was absolutely beautiful. Always one of my favaorite in MB and will definately return soon.

The course was in it's usual great condition. Play was a bit slow and could have been moved along a bit by staff.

Tees not mowed; 5.5 hours for 18 holes (way to slow) Third year in a row that our 2 foursomes have had to wait 15 minutes at the first tee- focus is definately to maximize number of groups that can be sandwiched onto the course.

Round played in excess of 5 hours, un-raked bunkers.

Overall, the potential is there but way too many faults to overlook. Pro shop staff very poor in customer relations. It seemed as if they just wanted to put as many people out as possible and then have the rangers push us around the course!

It was a cold rainy day, and we lasted 14 holes. The first cut rough had very little grass.

One of our favorite courses on the Strand. Always in good shape. Challenging, scenic but playable for any level of golfer. Greens and fairways are always in good shape. Another of our must golf destinations.

The course is awesome. Great traditional course and was in very good condition. Never had any issues with Marshall's and all staff were friendly. Will play this course again.

Not that impressed

I played this course last week with friends. I was concerned because many of the reviews were negative with regard to staff and marshalls. The reviews were spot on. Long story short, our foursome played the course at just under 4 hours. We were asked by the Marshall to speed up four times even though we never saw anyone in front or behind us and he stopped to stare at us a 5th time. We did speed up each time and asked the Marshall why we were being pressured. He basically said that they reserve the right to put other groups in front or behind you at any time. That didn't happen and, as I said, we never saw another group. The course was beautiful and in pristine shape almost as nice as Caledonia) but the staff turned what should have been a great experience into a tense, stressful, irritating one.

Great fit for our group of duffers. Everyone loved the course and the personnel. Kudos to the grill staff for their service and good food.

Great Golf course...loved the coupons our group received

Much more reflective of the golf courses we play on and the grass was clearly different than Heathland and Moorland. We would play this course again as we enjoyed it very much.

Exceptional

The greens have way too much undulation and were bog slow. The senior tees (I'm 67) were way too far up on several holes, sometimes just the blocks out in the fairway. Couldn't use driver on at least half the non-par 3's.

With 25+ mph wind, I don't think they should put the pins at the edges of the greens. This is not the US Open. Pins should be more in the middle of the greens.

Seems like their only concern is pace of play. Pro Shop did not have yardage books and the GPS did not work in the cart. Cart was clearly marked GPS bad but starter did not replace cart.

We had rain in the AM but the course was in pretty good shape. Starting on the back nine was a bit tricky. All in all by the time we play the front nine the course had drained and play was much better.

Have never dealt with such rude people, ask about the GPS on the carts, told it was 2 dollars to rent, went to pay and said needed to pay starter, when got to cart wire was pulled off, ask attendant if it would work without that wire, he said most likely not and walked away. when returning after 18 had to unload own clubs at clubhouse and walk quite a distance to car, attendant was rude, when coming back with the car to get the clubs, a foursome pulled in and attendant unloaded their clubs, loaded onto a cart he had there and drove them to their car and dropped them off. Will never play this course again even though we really like the course itself.

Incredibly snotty people.

We had a group of 20 golfers, all 6-11 handicap players, that played the Heritage course on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. The experience was the worst in almost 20 years of playing Myrtle Beach. It started with the attitude of the older man taking bags from our cars. He gave the impression that we were a bother to him and refused to get my bag after I asked him to let me change 1 club in my bag. During the round we were told we were 12 minutes behind when we were not. The course was in fair shape but the attitudes of the staff there were bad enough to keep me from returning. They lost additional revenue due to the fact that we went somewhere else to play an additional 9 holes and did not go into the pro shop to buy any merchandise. They also lost money from bar sales.

I should have checked about frost delay for this time of year. One of my three favorites in area.

Played Heritage twice during our visit. Have played Heritage on previous annual trips. Annually, Heritage is our favorite.

Course itself was in good shape, but our group (12 of us) did not have a good experience. Course was overbooked; they started us on the back 9 and we were backed up for the first 3 holes. Once we got going, things were OK until the turn. As we came into the clubhouse, we were greeted (somewhat brusquely) by some kid from the pro shop who informed us that we were holding up play and they wanted us to proceed directly to the next hole. We informed him that there was nobody behind us (and there had not been for about 5 holes). He responded, don't worry about what's behind you, just get going. We were then basically followed by a ranger throughout most of the back 9, who kept telling us to pick up our pace, despite the fact that there was still nobody behind us. As it turns out, they had booked a wedding party for that afternoon, and I suppose they just wanted to get us all off of the course. At the end of the round, one of our group was informed, your round is done, so now you can leave. Trust me when I tell you that we did leave, and it will be a very long time before Heritage sees any of the twelve of us again.

The course was in great shape and the weather was perfect, people are friendly, but did not have a great experience with the staff for lunch, just with one girl in particular did not like her job for sure but the rest was just great.

Course compares well with Willbrook and Parkland; wish I was hitting more consistently, but that wasn't the course's fault (as far as I know).

A yardage book with maps could have helped in a few places.

This was the day 7 inches of rain fell in Horry/Georgetwon counties. The course should have been closed by 3 p.m. and we should have been given a refund/credit (we completed four holes). However, the staff allowed us to wait until 5:30 p.m. before we decided that we would take a nine-hole rain check as heavy rains were still falling. As we were departing, the head pro/general manager told the remaining staff that the course was now closed. The staff did arrange a tee time for us at Legends Parkland for the next day (Please see my comments about Parkland). It became obvious that the management waited until we decided to take a rain check rather than close the course and give us a refund/credit.

Hurry up and wait! They tee you off every 5 minutes and then you wait on every shot. Nice layout but its a 5 1/2-hr round. That's not golf, that's bull____! NEVER again, NEVER. I would rather pay the extra $$ and play Caledonia or True Blue, at least you can play with a rhythm to your game. Heritage really (stinks) anymore and the people working there act like they are the only persons that know how to golf! I am a 2 hdcp. and I don't need some idiot from Heritage telling me how to golf!

Will play again very soon! Outstanding time. Will recommend to all my friends.

Very nice staff and the course was just beautiful.

We teed off at 7:00, made the turn at 8:55, had to wait till 9:24 to tee off the back and finished at 12:05. Any way you look at it they make you play a 5-hour round.

Pace of play was too slow, and a replay was not available even though we teed off at 7:08 a.m.

The starter was fine, but at the end of the round we took the carts to the parking lot not realizing we were not supposed to. The cart man came to the lot and berated us for doing so. I tried to apologize because we did not see a sign but he just turned his head and drove off. Our other members said he was talking about it when he got back to the clubhouse. It is a shame that the last day of our trip ended on such a sour note. We will not go back to the Heritage course again. We go to Myrtle every October also.

Tee boxes horrible. We only played 3 holes then got rained out. We waited 3 hours when they finally closed course for day. Mike was kind enough to give my group an 18-hole rain check. MY QUESTION ... WHEN WE BOOK NEXT YEAR HOW WOULD LONG BAY HANDLE WHEN SCHEDULING BASED ON RAIN CHECKS?

Nice course. Greens are in good condition. Dry and rapid. Fairways well maintained. Some tee areas are in poor condition. We hated that some tees have been put in the alley, particularly women's tees .We loved the holes around a huge lake. Windy but challenging. Staff is efficient and welcoming.

Some very nasty, tough greens. Greens had been top dressed recently, so even harder to read. Some very large swales & hills on these greens. Hole #2 listed as 540-yd. par 5. Apparently our group hits it long as 3 of us reached the hazard that is suppose to be 360 yds. out (yardage is off on this hole!). Course not as green as others we played thus week. A few tees were in poor shape. Numerous holes take the driver out of your hands due to layout. Fairways were in good shape, staff was good as well.

Little pricey.

<p>Played four Legends courses. We were supposed to play Parkland on our last day but as we have played that before and really liked Heathland, we opted for a replay at Heathland. Oyster Bay - 2/27; Heathland and Heritage - 2/28; Moorland and Heathland - 2/29. <p>Heritage - The last time I played here was in the late 80s - early 90s. Back then it was one of THE top tier courses, very well maintained, lots of distance between holes so at times, you really felt like you were the only ones out there playing. They have since put houses on every available square inch. I guess they had to do what they had to do but it has really taken away from the aesthetics. It wasn't quite the same condition as I remember but it wasn't horrible. Tee to green was pretty good but like I said, certainly not to the standard it once was. One annoying thing here was the ranger. Now, while I usually like to see them out there moving things along, at too many times this guy kept coming up on us telling us to get it moving ... as the group in front of us were just clearing the green and the one behind us was nowhere to be found. At one point he actually told us we were about 2 minutes behind. Two whole minutes? Really? We were waiting on almost every shot we took. Whatever. It's still a decent course and does have some nice holes but will probably leave this one alone from now on and look at other courses in the Pawleys Island area. There are far too many nice ones all within shouting distance to the Heritage to put up with that nonsense. <p>If you go to the Legends with the understanding that it's a golf factory and they'll get as many greens fees as they can during the course of the day then you'll be OK. However when THEY were the ones that booked our times, especially the 7:00 at Heathland/1:00 at Heritage (which is a 45-minute drive from one to the other), they should really cut back on the morning times going out the back or make sure things are moving along.

This course was in great shape, second time I played it. Love it. Just hard to find. Even GPS could not find it.

Would like to know more about greens during play. The green were great, but with the elevation changes vs. pin placements, a sheet with green schematics would help. Again, loved the complex greens.

Very unprofessional, very bad experience. This was our favorite course in the past but will forget it for a while. After having spent more than an hour on the road to get there, our reservation had not been registered; they decided to squeeze us in a shotgun at 9:32 a.m. but we had to wait until 11 a.m.; in the meantime, we decided to go to the driving range but could not get a basket or even a spot to practice. When we finally started the shotgun, we had to change our cart after the 3rd hole because the GPS wasn't working. Unfortunately, the new cart's battery was showing signs of distress after a few holes and we had to be pushed to finish our game! Won't definitely go back in the near future because not only are the course's conditions deteriorating, but the whole environment is getting very unwelcoming.

Great condition. Greens smooth and true. A fair test for all skill levels from white tees. Hole 13 is our favorite. The staff could not have been nicer. The treat you like a member. My group will have Heritage in our rotation every year.

Plain and simple, this is a great course and in great shape. It's absolutely beautiful and tough. It's what I look for in golf.

Most impressed with the historical markers on the course. Only complaint was being told we were 1 1/2 holes behind (a threesome was in front of us) while playing the front nine in 2 hours 3 minutes.

Very disappointed. Quit with 4 holes to play. Played 1st nine in 2 hrs. Played 10-13 in an hr. Ladies group and rental club beginners in front of us. Had 4 groups on one hole. Starter told us we were 8 min. behind on the front and was an ass about it. We had been waiting on every hole from the women in front of us. We had one hole we were slow on. Honestly, he really made me mad and he had attitude. The pro shop was very understanding and accommodating. They gave my partner and I 2 free rounds to be used anytime. The pro was great.

Very nice overall. Greens super-fast compared to other courses. Toughest greens by far. Maybe easier pin placements? Almost my best round with 6 three-putts.

5-hour round was a real downer but the course was fun to play, I will play it again for sure. The attendants and folks in the grill room were very accommodating - great place to play.

The course was stacked up on a VERY busy Saturday morning. We waited on probably 14 of 18 tee boxes. This did not stop your marshal from coming around and harassing us to play faster. I didn't mind waiting, I did mind being harassed. If I'm holding up play, fine, but if I'm waiting on almost every tee box, how exactly am I supposed to play faster? This negatively impacted our enjoyment of the round on a great course.

Very slow play. Too many golfers on course. Round took 5+ hours. Range balls are poor. Have played Heritage for 20 years. One of favorite courses on the Strand.

I have never played a club where everyone gave such excellent service and seemed to enjoy themselves at the same time. It was a real treat.

We returned after a 30year break and the course was excellent as were all the staff and facilities.

Great greens made reading putts much easier.

I'm a Legends fan. I'm going to grind reels for them when I retire. Love Dan Maples courses. Stern, fair test. Scatter my ashes on any Legends group course. On my top 10 list.

(Would like to have known prior to play) about the coupons for breakfast at the course, as we had an early tee time and it would have been easier to eat at the course.

First time playing Heritage. The layout is great but conditions (mainly tee boxes) were average. Course was packed and the first 9 holes took 3 hrs to play because of a crossover ... second 9 only 2 hrs.

The course was very nice and in excellent condition. The only negative was the length of the round. It took almost 6 hours and that is unacceptable. The Legends courses are golf factories putting groups front and back every 8 minutes.

Inappropriate actions by rangers and assistant pro made the round exasperating. They would tell us we were late and slow while we were neither based on the holes just played and the format we were playing. They were rude and interfered to an unacceptable extent. I will not be returning here.

Great shape, pace of play was slow; waited on every shot.

Disliked when one of the rangers came and told us we were playing too slow. But there was no one in front of us (two couples who played so fast) but there was no one behind us for two holes.

Course in great shape for March.

The greens are ridiculous, the bunkers were not in good shape but I like the course and the whole deal was excellent. Good staff, good service, good food, best of our trip. Replay cost was too high but overall we were very satisfied and would come back. Course is not quite in its best condition - too early I guess.

Beautiful course and clubhouse. Great condition for the time of year we played it (early March). Challenging and presents a number of true risk/reward decisions.

Never get tired of Heritage Club. The conditions are OK because of heavy play, but the layout is superior. I will return time and time again.

It's not a top 50 golf course.

We were so rushed by course marshals that my group didn't get to enjoy the history of the surroundings or the course that much. We do plan on playing the course again and hope for a better experience.

Played the course 1/20/11. For January it was in very good shape. The greens were fast but true.

Always a challenging golfing experience. Course was wetter than usual but overall dry - perhaps due to a drought?

I have golfed this course several times now and I'm never disappointed. One of the best layouts on the Strand. The course is a little beat up but for $55 with a lunch and 2 beers, I understand why. If the conditions were top notch, you would have a tough time finding a better course.

The general setup of the course is awesome. The landscape provided by this course is excellent. The back 9 is just perfect.

The grill/bar staff was exceptional. Glad you had shower facilities after the match; we were leaving directly to go home. It would have been convenient if the showers were separate from the restrooms. Lots of water. This course was well-kept. Play moved well; no holdups at tees. This was my first trip to MB to golf; it will not be the last.

Heritage is a great course and one of my favorite. However, course was overbooked, golf round took 6 hours, cart girl lacked golf course etiquette with no respect for golfers. 20 minute delay in starting due to no golf carts. Destroyed what has always been a great experience. Course marshall's response to slow play, enjoy the great scenery. Will not come back.

Absolutely a beautiful golf course. Starters were less than helpful, pro shop personnel were boors, and the waitresses in the grill were sea-slug slow. Hire someone to teach your staff some manners, and how to provide some customer service.

Outstanding course conditions; some of the trees in the middle of the fairway and around the greens are a bit gimmicky. The trees are pretty, but they remind me of a Pete Dye course where you get punished for what someone thinks is a good tee shot until stymied by a tree.

Solid course not too difficult; greens seem to be the only defense. Back 9 greens were sandy but was still a nice layout.

Excellent layout. Greens were recovering from aeration, therefore they were bumpy; otherwise I enjoyed the course. Back nine was a joy due to all the water holes.

In this heat, more frequest beverage cart appearances would be nice. Wet, cold towels at the turns.

The staff sent our twosome off the back nine so we would not have to play behind foursomes which naturally take longer.

Play was very slow, at one point there were 3 foursomes on one tee. We had a 5 1/2 hour round, Bethpage isn't that bad.

Love the history and the grand entrance. We play Heritage every year, but were disappointed with the condition this year.

A very nice experience, will definitely come back. The inclusion of the meals and drink tickets and one day free golf will bring us back next time.

What a joke - 1 p.m. tee time started at 1:30. Six hours to play. Starter keep saying it will open up; never did. Save your money; very overrated.

Very accommodating staff inside & out. Got coupons for free drinks & lunch at the grill plus coupon for use in the shop. Course in great condition - always a great challenge to play. Overall great experience.

Beautiful setting. Warm southern charm. Calm, relaxing environment. Challenging course. After three years of visiting Myrtle Beach for golf, our group has selected The Heritage as the one course that we must play each year. Perfect for our group.

(We liked) the people, the course ... we conclude our golf outing at the Heritage every year. They had a free breakfast, lunch and 2 beers with 15.00 off at pro shop. Very nice surprise. Should surprise pre-booked golfers more. Would be a nice touch.

Repeat player so I know the course well. Only downside was lack of snack service out on the course - Pretty infrequent but it's early in the season. Only know on conditioning is that the rough spring weather stunted the grown in a bit but the courses were in fine shape.

Starters very unorganized. Arrived 30 minutes early and still never got to range.

Attendants were not pleasant to deal with.

Very pleased with first round ... great deal but very crowded due to those deals ... kept up with group ahead whole round and we couldn't figure out tee box on one hole and ranger got after us for getting to the tee box when group finished up on green. Of course we were back waiting again in a hole or two.

This was a very hospitable place to play. Overall the course was in okay shape, nothing great but nothing bad.

Golf course is little bit old, due to the weather fairway had some wet spots, but it was a demanding and difficult course, but everyone of our team enjoyed the experience.

Truly a gem of a course and easily one of the best along the GS. With such a wet winter, only a few holes were cart path only and the course was in great shape. Too good of a course not to play.

Visually stunning layout. Unfortunately, recent rains made fairways long and wet, but didn't take away from our enjoyment of the day.

Course was very tough but enjoyable. Did not like the fact it was cart path only due to overseeding since we asked about that specifically before we came.

Way too crowded with local players who paid $39. including lunch and a couple beers while I paid over $100. to play a very slow round.

Fantastic course, the group hasn't played there since 2001. Would like to return to Caldonia; 2000 the last time there.

Cart path only took longer to play - inconvenient when on other side of fairway away from cart path since not knowledgeable regarding distances.

I would have preferred that the fairways had not been mowed, nor had the rough around the greens. You also had dead spots of grass throughout the course.

A very beautiful setting. Somehow something was missing. I think if I had played Blue instead of White, I would have enjoyed it more. Too many short irons from the Whites. Some of the greens were spotty.

Played 5/7/09, beautiful course, my wife loved it also. The greens were good, even though they had just been verticut. Good service. Loved the 18th hole, on in two over the water, makes an old man proud.

The Pro Shop said the greens were great and running at a 10 three days before play, and in reality the front 9 greens were verticut and topdressed, back 9 greens were infested with poa annua.

Played 4/6/09 and the greens were slow, hard to figure speed. Played 4/9/09, and greens were much better. Staff was great, loved the course, made it onto the 14th green in a head wind both days. Saw gators on a course for the first time. Great experience.

Wonderful golf course, we really enjoyed it. My only concern was that we played in less than 4 hours but had a group right behind us on every shot that we offered twice to ley play through and refused. We would've liked to have taken our times but with no ranger in sight, there wasn't much we could do.

Played Oct. 31, 2008: Beautiful course and surroundings, although our group did feel rushed by the starter, which was unfortunate. Instead of being greeted with 'Have a nice day,' we were greeted with 'Play as fast as you possibly can today.'

Commented on September 2, 2008: This is not a Top 50 in America course. Bent grass greens were in sup-par condition - over half of the putts BOUNCED AND BOUNCED. Also there were MANY dead spots on the greens. Pace of play: 5 HOURS 45 MINUTES!!!!! I would only recommend this course vs. other average courses - not even in the Top 20 for Myrtle Beach . . .

Played July 28, 2008: If you don't want to pay the higher price to play Caledonia, be sure to play Heritage. The same type of course at half the price, and it has always been in great shape when we have played there.

Played May 8, 2008: Has to be one of the nicest courses (if not the nicest) I've ever played. Will definitely come back to play when I come back in August.
