Good layout .Staff very friendly

A fun Rees Jones design to play, every hole is different. Greens well protected by bunkers. Greens rolled great, and are sneaky undulating. Friendly staff, our group had a fun day.

It was a very nice experience. The course was in good shape, the staff was very pleasant.

Enjoyable round.

Have played this course several time and enjoy the layout. Teetime booked was 7:35 and when we arrived they moved us to 7:51. Also no towels were provided on cart and it was very wet. As a result we used our towels attached to our bags and we ended up losing one.

Course was in good condition. Greens were slower than what I'm used to. Course was close to where we were staying so very convenient.

Arcadian Shores was very nice. Good fairways and tees. Greens were good but not very fast.

The greens are in GREAT shape! I was there for an outing and they treated our group very well. And I guess if you have a hole-in-one your going to say you love the course. Well I did, hole 17, 137 yards! Yeah baby yeah. Will definitely be back to try to recreate history!

Was 2 min late for tee time do to the club attendants at the parking area. Desk attendant was rude said we would have to take a rain check and could not go off 2 min behind on a week day they were not busy in no way. Yes i am a young golfer but very professional ive played in high school as well as college and this is tge first time i have ever been disrespected on a golf coarse.also no were does it say that the proshop is closed so bathrooms are porta-pottys had a small trailer with very limited room.

White tees, wet fairways, cart path only, firm greens, good value,medium difficult, nice course. Recommend for the cost.

The layout brings a challenge for all golfers from each tee block. The 13th hole was very challenging and when you get near the green and go across the bridge keep an eye out for the two gators which call the swamp area to the right of the green home. Good course to play for the price. I would play this course again on my next trip. Only problem we had was the grill was broken so we couldn't eat there.

I was surprised by this course. Although not rated very high, I enjoyed my round there. It was challenging enough but not to challenging as my wife also enjoyed her round. Would definitely play this course again .

Was pleasantly surprised. Course was in good shape, and greens rolled nicely, and not overly fast. My expectations weren't terribly high, but they were far exceeded. This is not one of the top 10 courses in Myrtle Beach, but I'd play it again.

Starter was really nice as was the snack bar attendant. And that's where the good review ends. Thankfully I wasn't in the 100s of bunkers that they have, but ideally, you would want each bunker to have more than one rake per bunker. The fairways were somewhat bare and a few of the greens are not in shape. Spend a few extra $$ and play another course.

Played with my son in the morning. Staff load my bags up and got me right out to number one. The greens were a little slow but not bad for my son and I. It was a great course for my son to learn on. He enjoyed #13 signature hole. Also pro shop was having a 50% off sale on shirts.

I am part of a group that has been coming to Myrtle Beach for 38 years and have played Arcadian at least 20 times. I'm not sure what's happening here now but the conditions today were so bad that we told them we wouldn't be back. We were told that they don't care about reviews these couple of weeks because they just airified their greens. Let me tell you that for the money we paid it wasn't worth it. We've played Shaftesbury Glen twice already this week and it was amazing. As Usual. Don't waste your money playing Arcadian, we only played it because it's close to condo, that's not happening again.

I called to make a tee time and was told by the person over the phone that it would be $49 per person but when arrived it was $60, didn't mind paying the 11 dollars but the greens were not in good shape with dead spots and ground hog tunnels other than that the fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. My group of six was told to start on the tenth tee, and once we met the starter he instructed us that we could all play together which i found odd but went and started on the tenth tee anyway. when we finished our first hole a man named Dan approached us yelling and cursing about how we aren't suppose to play together. I approached Dan to try and talk to him and tell him the starter told us to go out but all he would say is, I don't know where you guys are from but we don't do this sh*t here and We never send six or even five out at a time, i will have you guys kicked out if this sh*t happens again. He also said we were not keeping pace even though when we got to hole 11 we had to wait for the golfers in front of us to finish, If Dan would have simply came up up to us and said the starter made a mistake and i need you guys to split up I would have been OK with it because I thought it was strange anyway. I have been golfing for three years now and this is by far the worst I have ever been treated, I also had a first time golfer with me who said he will not be golfing anymore because he thinks this is how golf courses treat there guests. I'm in the Myrtle area very often with friends and will not be returning to this course and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Enjoyed playing this course, especially signature holes #2 and #13. Fairways were awesome. While the greens were transitioning they were in good shape and putted true. Sand in bunkers was soft and fringe was full. Cart paths may need a little work, but not a deal breaker for me. Staff was great. Recommend you play this course.

Whilst the layout may be a little ordinary there was nothing ordinary about the greens. Some of the best we played on in our 2 week trip and should make other courses embarrassed when moaning about bad winters (Long Bay/True Blue).

Pro shop is out of date. Booked a package at 4 different course. Best greens we played while in Myrtle Beach. Staff was really friendly.

My first experience here was great but my second left much to be desired. The young man at the pro shop needs some much needed customer service help. We arrived on time for our tee time but had to use the facilities since we were just coming in from a 4-hour trip. He said I need you on the course now. He was so rude. I explained to him that of course, I was not the one playing considering I had on a dress and sandals. He proceeded to pick up the walkie talkie and tell the other guy that the party was here but he didn't know where the bodies where. I had just told him that they went to use the facility. How rude. That sealed it for me. My family will never play here again. I am not a child and I resent being talked to like I was ignorant. You all have lost a customer for life.

Not a bad course. Spoiled at 8:15 a.m. on hole #2 by the smartass ranger who asked if I was color blind. Seriously, those were his first words as he stood over the fairway cart stake in the fairway as we finished putting. Apparently I exited the fairway in my cart behind the cart exit sign, but I traversed onto hardpan sand on the incorrect side of the green (20 yards from the nearest blade of grass). Had the course not been a goat track, I may have realized I was in an area where a cart should not be taken.

Love the reward card, great burgers!!! We arrived for our game during the start of a tournament so things seemed a little confused at the beginning but all in all it was a good experience. The women liked the course more than the men.

We enjoyed it.

Had a 8:00 tee time played the front nine made the turn at 10:15 found 7 groups on the 10th tee. We were told a large group unexpectedly showed up so we left - didn't have time to wait an hour to tee off.

Greens were great but the fairways were sparse. It was very wet that day.

For the past several years I have planned a small tournament (25 to 30 people) with Jason. Jason and the entire staff will go out of their way to accommodate all of our needs, event to the point of making several changes the day of the tournament. No matter how poorly I have planned the tournament, Jason will make it happen and all will have a very enjoyable day.

Played the course about a week ago very nice track. It gives you everything you want ... Staff was excellent very friendly and made you feel like you were part of there team ... It's a must play will be telling friends about this course will play again..

Took a group of 12 for a bachelor party the staff was really great with making sure we had a good time...Cart guys had us laughing all day it was truly the greatest time of golf for the group.. Course was in great shape considering all the rain the course got that week... Thanks for the great time...

First time playing this course. Course was in decent shape. Greens were in very good shape. Greens have a lot of undulations. Overall, we enjoyed the round.

Hadn't played this course in 30 years . Love the lay out of the course but appeared to be very run down compared to the other courses . Club house old washroom dirty . Really need a face lift & could rank up with some of the best .

There where only two attendants at the bag drop, neither one attended to my bags carried my own bag up to the club house. But the starter and the person I was paired up with made the day awesome!

Staff very unfriendly , not willing to help vacationers at all. Just are all about the dollar. Do not play this course, plenty more with a very courtesy staff. Played 5 rounds during our stay and all were friendly except Arcadian Shores!

Not much has changed in 20 years. Lots of trees have been removed. Fun course with some difficult holes. Worth the money to play.

The course was not in good shape. They are in the process of cutting down trees around the course and it was a mess. I'll play it again in the summer and give if a second chance. For the price I expected better.

Course and employees have greatly improved from 4-5 years ago. Fun layout, fairway turf was a little thin for this time of year.

Only reason we have a 6 in fairways, greens and tees is due to windy conditions and leaves everywhere

Old but traditional layout. Hey owners some money you receive from the greens fees needs to be re-invested in the appearance of your clubhouse and course signage and restrooms. The grounds crews were clueless when a group was approaching their shot to the green and never stopped blowing leaves or leaving the area when a shot was made. A lawsuit waiting to happen. Perk up the place and we may return.

The course was close to where I was staying and very similar to Waterway Hills both are R.T.Jones courses.

Enjoyed the round, unfortunately new sod was laid which was limiting to some areas to drive. Was as a great experience and value for the price.

I play this course 3-4 times a year because of its location. It's right across the street from where I stay.

Inexpensive course, reasonable value, nothing particularly unique about the course, but pleasant nonetheless.

What a shame. The course conditions were pitiful. It took 5 1/2 hours to play because the pace of play was so dreadfully slow. Clubhouse appears to be modern (for 1973). Staff was friendly, but did nothing to improve the pace of play. I will not return unless the course goes through major renovations.

I thought course needed some suttle touches around the rough and tee boxes.

I wished they told me that the greens would be aereated.

Poor score on greens because of aeration done the day before play. The rest of the course was excellent.

Was a nice layout. Had a lot of standing water, but we were expecting that due to the rains they have been having. Got through 9 holes and rains came again. Proshop gave all of us 9 hole rain checks for the life of the course. Will go back next year and finish the back 9.

My experience at Arcadian Shores was spectacular... Coming from Montana, I have never seen a Beware of Alligators sign... Rattlesnakes maybe,.. .

I found this course to be easy but i didn't play it well

Very nice course. Well bunkered,greens. Enjoyable. The only downside was they could not get us out for a replay until 5:00pm after a 8:40 tee time. They did give us the replay rate at one of their sister courses. They were very helpful in arranging it, and the course they sent us to was top notch.

Course gives the rest of the Prime Time courses a good name. Ball marks on greens, slow play. Rangers should get the pace of play moving instead of picking up tees on the tee boxes. Accolades printed on the score card must be from 20 years ago.

It had rainded so the course was in bad shape. Out of the three that we played this would be the least favorite.

Very nice playable layout. slow play was annoying after the turn. Rangers rushed us through the front nine only to get backed up at the turn. 2:45 hours for the back. Not fun.

Course condition. However hole locations were difficult. Several holes on ridges. We had to talk to attendants multiple times to get the clubs put on a cart. Even though groups were being loade with tee times after ours.

Should cater to disabled golfer(knee),cart path only was hard to handle,it is soft but using discretion on course I dont see a problem running the fairways

The course was fine, but cart paths were a mess. They need to be redone, too many bumps and cracks. Raqined in the A.M and had to ride cartpaths only. Did not have very good drainage. Standing water in fairways. The greens were to fast for high handicap players. The pin placements were very tough.

I have played this course many times and always wished it could return to it's reputation of the 70's. terrific layout and now it's getting the physical changes needed to do that.----great holes--not a bunch of doglegs stuffed together to make up for lack of space----outstanding staff---the on course work being done will make this a premier course again .

Holes 2 and 13 were challenging, but exciting. I will remember 13 for a long time. Your cart paths really need a lot of work!!!

This is an older course in Myrtle Beach, but still very enjoyable. Not too difficult with many holes being straight out. There are a couple of holes here that will get you though. Service here is GREAT! The staff treated me very well.

Top notch class facility. Well organized. Course in great shape. Some of the pin placements on the front nine were tough, especially on one hole place on the edge of a very steep slope. Green on front nine have much more slope than on the back. Green putted very true. Removing trees on first few holes - probably to make play a bit easier. This is one of the best courses in MB. Course drains extremely well. A++

Absolutely love this course. The new renovations that they are making are bringing a new look to the course. I have enjoyed my rounds at Arcadian Shores. Everytime i have played it the course seems to be in the best shape. The staff is so friendly and polite and treat you with the utmost respect. I would highly recommended, and do, this course to anyone!! A must play while visiting in Myrtle Beach.

Arcadian Shores is a Myrtle Beach staple. It is a challenging course that keeps it fun. Most tee shots are highly visible setting up approach shots into well guarded greens. The staff is always extremely friendly and upbeat. I thoroughly enjoy every round played at Arcadian Shores.

Staff was great, very helpful, and personable!!! wanted survey on Ocean Reef Resort, we were not happy with much of the stay this year. Very disappointed

Nice course, but cart paths only seemed ridiculous, given the dry conditions.

Obviously they are doing some tree removal to improve course conditions. I like the greens (slopes, putting trueness, and well guarded by bunkers). The fairways are generous and the course tends to play longer than the card distance. The bunkers probably need to be more consistent in sand conditions (some were more subject to fried egg lies and others were more tightly packed). Like the location of the course and the layout but overall conditions need some improvement. If the greens were faster it would be interesting but may make it too difficult for the average player

Except for a ranger problem the course was on our comeback list, now it's not.

I liked the idea of a ball washer and club scrubber on the cart. I could have used more water fountains on the course. It was beautiful there and I will try to play it again on my next visit.

Overseeded greens looked good but were very very slow. Hard to adjust too after playing my home course.

First time playing this course, I did enjoy the layout but the greens were a little rough compared to other courses we played. There were a lot of golfers the morning we teed off and the round was a little long. I would play this course again.

Liked the tree lined fairways.

The conditions were the best in years. The fairways were good, but grass gets thin to bare ground near the trees. Bunkers were groomed. The old type bermuda greens were smooth with medium speed and overseed starting to grow. Some bunkers are bleeding sand and that cries poor maintenance. They have sodded around a fairway bunker on #14, along Lake Arrowhead road. That looks great and hopefully it will continue where needed. The many dense trees drop lots of debris, creating a messy look. The pro hopes to have some trees removed and possibly new greens in the next year or so. The course is traditional, tree lined and well bunkered. You could call it a budget version of The Dunes.

The course was in very good condition and a good challenge, but the cart paths were in terrible condition with pot hole that would damage golf carts if drivers were not careful. No trash receptacles at any of the tees.

Your course & facility are great. However my husband (10 hdcp.) and I were paired with a regular couple and it took us 1 hr 10 minutes to play 3 holes! The elderly gentleman was painfully slow. We lost our timing could not play our regular game and quit after 4 holes. What a shame. I mentioned this to the cart attendant and he only shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. We hope to come back again and give the course another try. Thanks.

I love this course. The staff is always funny and makes you want to play the course. Lost a club, staff was able to find it and bring it right out to me with no problems.

Played with my family on Monday the 17th. Staff was really friendly made us feel good about playing not like some other course that push you and make you feel rushed. Course was very fun and a challenge for us to play but fair.

Type of grass on first cut, very spongy and new to me, greens huge and challenging, lots a sand, terrific place to play.

Enjoyed my round at Arcadian Shores. It had been a number of years since I played there and it was in excellent condition and just as enjoyable as I remembered. Definitely one I would play again.

Greens in fair shape and the fairway was spotty in some areas. Have always enjoyed playing this course but with an early A.M. tee time and no one behind us, the marshall did not want me to hit a mulligan on the first hole. Not a good way to start the round. Staff was very nice and our foursome played in less than four hours.

Course was in very good shape. Fun and a very good value. Rental clubs where very good as well. Would definitely play again.

The most friendly staff I encountered after three consecutive days of golfing at the beach. Everyone from maintenance workers to the ranger were the most pleasant people I've encountered at a golf course in some time. The greens were a little tricky and there is a pile of sand traps through out the course. If you have an early tee time and don't have a chance to grab breakfast before heading out, you can hop the fence on the tee box for #3 and run across the road to Bojangles. On par 4s with a good tee shot, it was easy to be on the green in 2, as long as you didn't end up in the sand. Overall, a great course with great people and fair prices, I will definitely play another round there in the future.

It was a very nice golf course. They had a lot of people out there that day playing golf. The only problem I had with the course is they had a worker going around telling us that we needed to speed it up a little because we had people behind us. When I'm on vacation and playing golf I don't need someone rushing me on the golf course.

Would like to know they double tee until mid morning. This can make the 2nd nine VERY long. Pace of play was discouraging. Also, the maintenance crew has no respect for players. They continue to cut grass and use blowers right beside you while teeing off or putting.

Played back 9 before downpour came and course became unplayable. Received rain check for 9 holes. Attempted 3-4 times via phone and once via email to complete play without an answer to voicemail left, nor reply to email. Was disappointed with that. Had played the course several years ago and found course even better than I remembered. Played then with my dad and 7/30/12 with my son so that made it special.

Would have been much better if we didn't have a bachelor party six-some in front of us that didn't let us play through until the 10th. Nice course and friendly staff.

Course was good, bunkers were well maintained. My only dissatisfaction is my tee time was 7:36 and we did not tee off until about 7:55.

Just sanded the greens so they were not in great shape. The course was fairly decent otherwise. Pretty good deal for the price.

Great course layout and a very challenging course. Really enjoyed it. The conditions were the only thing that took away from the experience. Greens were high and slow. Fairways were dug up in places. Sand was out of the bunkers on several fairways. Starter was great at providing info on course. I loved the back to back water holes as well as the one surrounded by sand traps. All three added a challenge for accuracy.

It was quick and easy to get started. Everyone was great that we talked to.

I enjoyed the course, played as a single and was paired with good company. I would recommend this course, very convenient and priced right. The course was in good shape and the greens were OK. The only thing I didn't care for was being solicited on one of the holes, I'm sure it's a good cause I just don't think it's a good place for it. Overall I had fun.

I played at your course because of its location to the Embassy Suites Hotel where we stayed. There are better conditioned golf courses in Myrtle Beach. The layout is challenging. The course is just a bit tired looking and needs some work. I was not told that the greens had recently been aerated and dressed. This made the putting terrible and inconsistent. I do not know how you remedy this because maintenance is an ongoing aspect of any golf course. Just a timing thing for me. I played the course two days in row. Saturday and Sunday.

Have played the course many times. Enjoy the setting.

We have played this course for over 20 years and were surprised as to how the overall conditions have fallen off; this is superior golf course in layout that needs some sprucing up to get back to a top level.

Layout was nice but course conditions were awful! It would have been nice to know that before booking.

The course is in great shape right now and the staff is always happy to help with whatever we need. It was a great time for me and my buddies and I hope to come back again soon!

Arcadian Shores was fairly easy. 1 or two beautiful holes but no chance I would go back.

The #13 is one of the nicest hole layouts on the Grand Strand. It is a pity that the tee boxes (esp. Per 3's) needed life support! Got grass?

The course is challenging to the weekend golfer. There are plenty of sand traps, especially around the greens where your chance for a roll on is little. You've got to hit the shot. All in all the course was enjoyable. The staff was excellent.

We liked the fairways, greens, starter, greeters that handled our clubs. Overall a very nice experience overall.

Everybody in the group was happy with the course. It was in great shape and all of us liked the layout.

I was delighted to see the baby alligator on one of the holes. The course is lovely with beautiful, tree-lined fairways. The sound of the fire engine from the nearby station was a bit of a nuisance as was the sound of traffic from the nearby street, but all in all, we enjoyed the course, especially its proximity to Wyndham where we were staying.

Attendants were great but the starter was so obnoxious right off the bat, unfortunately they had backed up in the a.m. and therefore, all the tee times in the p.m. were backed up. Finally we were able to go off 20 minutes after scheduled tee time, very slow play the first nine but after nine we sailed through the back and never saw another foursome until the 18th hole and no one was behind us for over 6 holes. Would never play this course again, and they really need to do something about that starter as he really does not need to be doing this type of work with the way he deals with people.

Nice layout, got to hit most of the clubs in the bag, green surface looked rough, but rolled true. Worth the discounted rate we had.

Marshall told us we were playing too slow. But there was no one behind us. Would like to have played as twosome.

We play this course every year due to the proximity to our hotel. This is by far the WORST I have every seen this course. In addition to the overbooking of tee times, could-care-less-attitude of the employees and the slow play, we will not be back. Played Beachwood on Saturday and it was the exact opposite: great condition, pleasant employees and no waiting at all.

Good layout, but needs lots of work. Trees are overgrown, hurting turf conditions. In many areas, half the trees need to be removed to provide more air and sunlight.

We have played Arcadian before and like it. But, we booked a 2 p.m. tee time online on Ambassador and when we arrived they had us down for 1:44 p.m. so we had missed our tee time. They let us go anyway, so it wasn't a problem. The only thing I didn't like was that the ranger asked me to move my youngsters along when we had a large group in front of us and behind us. We couldn't play any faster. In fact, we had to yell fore more than once when my 12-year-old hit a ball past the group in front of us. He's on his middle school golf team and was playing better the most of the adults around us.

Aerated greens still ran true. Excellent deals in the clubhouse: beer and a dog at the turn. A sign on 17 would have been nice. Bag drop was nice and efficient. Sand traps were awful. A couple holes could have distances added to scorecard - weren't offered a yardage book ...

Always one of my favorites at Myrtle Beach. I always seem to play well here and enjoy the round. Staff is terrific and course is in good shape for March golf.

This is a low-end course. The fairways are very thin and some of the greens are in trouble. Maybe a good course for the money but I'd hesitate to play this again. The staff was friendly and we finished in 4 hours so the pace was fine. It does have a good mixture of tough holes and easy ones. The day we were there it appeared the course was full of local people probably due to low cost to play.

Course was fun to play, although some greens had very little bail out area in regard to traps guarding green. Just a design issue. All people were friendly. Thought the prices in the pro shop were a bit high, no discount racks like were at other courses. Beverage cart was only seen on hole 10 and 18, kind of where didn't need it. Understand there was a problem with the beverage cart itself.

I even made the mistake of taking the cart on the fairway on a par three, however, your attendant was so kind in letting me know of the mistake I made. Course was fun to play. Able to advance ball when you got in trouble. Was glad they got some much-needed rain. A nice course, enjoyable. #9 favorite hole, birdie. No houses. Would play again. Very nice staff.

Love the layout. Some tees and several greens were in poor shape. Greens have some spots that should be marked unplayable!

Do not spend your $60 here, not a good course, in bad condition. Have a course called Irem CC near me to play for $30 and is in spectacular condition.

Great layout and great track. Needs a capital infusion. No towels. No yardage markers. Traps were mediocre. Greens putted like a 5 on the stimp. Almost like a public course which it may be. Again it looks like it needs a capital infusion.

This was my first play since the renovations. Arcadian is fun to play, with a classic design and the Jones look. Fairways are wide and are tree lined with tall pine and oak trees, that are cleaned out. Most holes are well bunkered and there are several ponds. Tees, fairways and bunkers were good for this level of course. The old bermuda greens were poor, very slow and bumpy. The guys liked the layout, but hated the greens. The greens were not on par with other old bermuda greens (Litchfield + Witch, etc.) or courses in similar price range within B&C. Lots of bare ground off the fairways, loads of pine cones, beat up cart paths, etc, lead to a shabby look. Not recommended for package play, other than a replay.

Played on 10/15/10; we played this round as a one last round-type deal before we left because it was so close to our place. Let me say the round could not have been more enjoyable, from the staff to the conditions to the layout, I had played this course about four years ago and liked it then. They have done some work to it since then and it is even better. It is well worth the money (I have paid more and gotten less before on trips to Myrtle Beach, e.g. Waterway Hills). Check it out; you may be surprised.

We liked this course, the fairways were well kept up and the greens were excellent.

I arrived as a single and the staff had no problem getting me in with a group on a Saturday morning.Had heard some not so nice things about the course, but found all that to be untrue. Good thick grass on the tees and fairways and it was cut nicely. The greens were nice and rolled true and were cut nicely at what I'd call a medium fast speed. The bunkers all had the right amount of sand and were nicely maintained, no grass growing in them and had been smoothed mechanically that morning. Price was not out of line for the area, I would go there again.
